Glicée Prints, what are they?

When I decided to turn my paintings into prints, I went out searching for the best printing company I could find and I ordered a variety of samples of different quality paper and weight.

I then learnt about how there are regular prints and also Glicée prints (pronounced zhee-clay). The main difference is that regular inkjet prints are made using dye-based inks, whereas Glicées are made using pigment-based inks. They produce a better quality print and provide greater detail and colour! In essence, they make the print look and feel like the original painting.
